Dear Colleagues and Representatives of the NASC, Presidents, and ESA Council Members,
The National Anaesthesiologists Societies Committee (NASC) and the Education and Training Committee are calling for applications for the Young Teaching Recognition Award. The application deadline is 01 March.
The purpose of this award is to acknowledge and encourage individuals with outstanding and innovative teaching skills who will have an impact on the dissemination of knowledge and training.
The winning presentations may be developed into an ESA e-learning module. In 2016, the grant was very successful with 24 applications from 15 countries. The success was greatly down to the promotion made by each of the national societies to your members. Please would you support the award again this year and help disseminate the application information to all your young members.
The format of the competition has been changed this year to put additional emphasis on anaesthesia and intensive care, with a specific annual topic.
2017 presentations should focus one of the following areas:
1. Anaesthesia – Obstetrics
2. Anaesthesia – Paediatrics
3. Anaesthesia – General Anaesthesiology
4. Intensive Care
The details of the aims of the award, application process and form can be found on the ESA website .
Applicants should be a trainee or within the first year of specialisation, a member of their national society and must submit a letter of reference from their Head of Department and the President of their national society.
This is a very worthy award, the applicants selected to enter the final in Geneva will have the exceptional opportunity of receiving advice and evaluation from a panel of highly recognised experts as well as free registration and travel expenses to attend Euroanaesthesia.
The 2 winners will have the honour of speaking at a session during Euroanaesthesia 2018 in Copenhagen and the ESA will consider developing their material into ESA E-learning modules.
This is a wonderful opportunity, please help us make sure a maximum of young colleagues have the opportunity of participating, learning and becoming great teachers!
With kind regards,
Susan de Bièvre,
ESA External and Corporate Relations Manager
